A Little History
Lisa Staniford and Mairead Cheeseman saw an advert for a soft play group up for sale, the adventure was funded by me; Pauline (Mairead’s mum), and on the 29th October 2013 we reopened still as Little Scamps for our first soft play session.
After much discussion and many ideas we decided to change the name to Little Rays to establish our own identity. Since that day we have grown in many ways;
In September 2014 we opened the Breakfast and After School clubs at The Bury’s Scout Hut, the clubs grew fast and we soon out grew our little HQ, so we decided to move the Out of School clubs to Godalming Town Football Club in March 2015.
The space we had at the football club was immense so we decided to approach the committee for permission to start a pre-school, once we had our Ousted registered. The Football Club have backed us and helped us all the way, so in September 2015, Little Rays outdoor learning Pre-school was opened, but we aren’t stopping there.
In July this year Andy Redfern joined us from Australia, and has taken over the management of Little Rays Soft Play at The Bury’s Scout Hut and hopes to expand soon. So now that has happened Pauline can concentrate on The Pre-School, and with that in mind 2 members of staff are currently studying their Level 3 in Forest School leadership, To hold Forest school at Loseley Park, opening in January 2016.
We hope this has given you a brief insight into our little venture and hope you can join us at one of our many clubs, soft play sessions or pre-school activities.
See you soon!
